In this section I would like to focus on the education technology leadership role I play within the British Columbia post-secondary system, and how this role influences and guides the ways in which education technologies are piloted and, ultimately, deployed as shared services across the province.
The role I have at BCcampus is a unique one within the British Columbia post-secondary system. A key component of the role is to test, evaluate, analyze, and deploy education technologies that can have a systematic impact across the post-sec system. In order to achieve this, I must work closely with a key system partner, BCNET, who are responsible for the operationalizing of education technology shared services.BCcampus is the incubator while BCNET is the operationalizer.
decisions around education technology within my role influences the decisions around sector wide . my leadership role within the British Columbia role as both a community builder and educational technology leader think this piece should speak to my system wide leadership & project management pulling together diverse groups of stakeholders and piloting & launching system wide education technology initiatives. Also leadership across the BC post-sec sector (ie EdTech Demos, Ally, homework systems)

From description:
Whereas you may choose specialist areas that focus on a particular technical skills, teaching or assessment practice, this part of your portfolio is an opportunity to demonstrate your ability to communicate and influence others, to lead, take decisions, strategise or contribute new research as a Learning Technology professional.
Focus on each of the core principles underlying CMALT to inform your reflection:
- A commitment to exploring and understanding the interplay between technology and learning.
- A commitment to keep up to date with new technologies.
- An empathy with and willingness to learn from colleagues from different backgrounds and specialist areas.
- A commitment to communicate and disseminate effective practice.
This area is particularly designed to prompt you to reflect on the wider impact of your work, either within your institution or the wider sector. We recognise that Senior CMALT holders may work in diverse contexts and roles, but we expect them to be able to demonstrate and articulate leadership and impact in Learning Technology within their particular context. This might be through modelling innovation and effective practice, through mentorship, supervision, coordination, collaboration, communication, management, or strategic leadership, or through research and publication that is nationally and/or internationally recognised as excellent.
