The mandate of my current employer, BCcampus, is to provide system wide support to the British Columbia post-secondary system in the areas of teaching, learning and education technology. We are a non-profit organization funded by, and reporting to, the British Columbia Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. As such, I am deeply connected to the Ministry and the government policies as they relate to post-secondary education in the province.
Additionally, I have worked on inter-provincial initiatives involving government agencies in other provinces across Canada. Canada is somewhat unique in that higher education is a provincial, not national responsibility.
